Re: [-empyre-] permission to quote?

because there is a record, list postings become something of history,
and can surely be quoted. but list posting also has the properties of
cocktail party. can something someone says at a cocktail party be
quoted? so permission is not required per se, but as has been pointed
out, a contextual once over is appreciated.

but does a conversation at such a space as remote lounge (nyc bar with
controllable cameras and monitors all over the place) also become public
domain? can someone freely televise a conversation i have at remote
lounge? i suppose the answer in the context of list posting would have
to be yes.
